Why I built genqrfree
I built genqrfree.com because every QR code tool I tried either forced you to create an account, put a watermark on your download, or locked basic features like SVG export behind a subscription. As a developer, I found this frustrating — generating a QR code is a solved technical problem, and it should be free.
genqrfree.com is the tool I always wanted: fast, free, and fully featured — with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limits on what you can download. PNG, SVG, PDF, and EPS are all free, forever.
Privacy-first by design
genqrfree.com is built with a privacy-first architecture. When you generate a QR code — whether it contains a URL, a WiFi password, or personal contact information — that data never leaves your device.
All QR code generation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to our servers. No logs are stored. Your WiFi passwords, email addresses, and URLs are processed locally and discarded when you close the tab.
This is not just a privacy policy claim — it is the technical architecture of the tool. You can verify this yourself by opening Chrome DevTools → Network tab and observing zero outbound requests when generating a QR code.
